When Allison and I met for our floral consultation, she was a woman who knew exactly what she wanted!! Blooms & colours to evoke a wonderful fall elegance with a touch of natural elements & punches of wine shades to match the bridesmaids dresses. Together we came up with a palette of burnt oranges, wines, browns with punches of lime green, mustard yellow, hot pink and birch! With the Old Mill in Ancaster being the backdrop for their autumn nuptials, the flowers were definitely the splash of colour for their day!
Feast your eyes on these lovely bouquets - blooms include orange & wine toned ball dahlia, lime green spider mums & mini cymbidium orchids, hot pink coxcomb celosia, mustard billy balls & button mums, burgundy gerbera & beech leaves wrapped with flipped leaves, satin ribbon & twine for a rustic touch.

Oh and don’t forget the cute kissing ball for the little princess :)

Masculine fall inspired boutonnieres for the men…

Distinctive pew decor - these birch cones were a lovely woodsy touch against the bold blooms

Moving into the venue, birch wrapped tins & blooms added an exceptional warmth to the simply decorated room

This year, grey really has been one of my fav shades; it’s just fabulous for decorating in the home, a staple in any wardrobe and of course a hot colour for weddings! Though it’s not going to be found as a colour of a fresh flower; it’s all the rage for accents & coordinating details!! Amanda & her ladies chose a lovely pewter grey for their bridesmaid dresses and for the flowers we coordinated with a soft, romantic palette of pale pinks, ivories, whites & of course greys! We achieved this look by incorporating blown open garden roses, dahlia, ranunculus, imported roses, anemone with black centres for a pop along with the colour of the hour - grey!! - with dusty miller foliage, brunia berries & to tie everything together a charcoal ribbon wrap & matching pins! Stunning!!! peruse these gorgeous shots from Elma of Photography by Elma

Earlier this year Amrita & Darrel shared their vows over a stunning weekend with their close friends & family. Simple elegance would perfectly sum up the pure white bouquet created for their Indian ceremony & allowed Amrita in all of her finery shine through; the piece included white peonies, imported & spray roses and calla lilies tucked in perfectly to a delicate gold holder…these pictures are fabulous!

For their western ceremony, the bridal couple chose the Toronto Botanical Garden to capture their garden style day. This venue was just fabulous…the ceremony area was surrounded by the beauty of the gardens & the sounds of running water from the fountains but after setting up all of the details, the clouds opened and much to Amrita’s dismay started raining…I do have to share how stunning the floral pieces looked outside…

…so we moved into their indoor ceremony site which was equally beautiful featuring unique modern elements & a textured white wall - very cool!

The rain definitely didn’t damper their spirits or affect the stunning couple & wedding party

After the ceremony, the party continued at the Woodbine Banquet & Conference Centre where the place was decked out in warm shades of deep purple, silvers and hot pinks. The wedding party tables really showed off the romantic look, especially with the ambiance of all the cylinder vases filled with floating candles & rose petals lining the head table (these were used earlier to line the aisle of the ceremony for a unique aisle decor option).

For the guest tables, manzanita trees were rented for the evening and we soften the look by adding silver mint julep vases filled with white hydrangea & scattered rose petals around the tables as a finishing touch & pop of colour.

The overall affect - wow!! Congrats to both of you, I had such a pleasure working with you along with your lovely wedding planner extraordinaire, Mary Bratko of Weddinggirl.ca!

Spring is always a lovely time of year for a wedding! A time full of new life & fresh promise, perfect for a couple in love surrounded by fragrant blooms and soft yet bold colours. As can be seen in these photographs, Tara & Mike have such a wonderful bond and warm love for each other and it was such a pleasure working along side of them; capturing their colour palette and their special day with the flowers! Like I said earlier, after a long winter, spring brings out all sorts of charming blooms and I was thrilled when Tara showed me her colour swatches – canary yellows, olive & lime greens and celery greens which I paired with yellow ranunculus & freesia, pungent yellow mimosa, soft green hellebore, lime green cymbidium orchids, soft green hydrangea all adding such a lovely punch against her ivory dress and within their venue at the Pillar & Post in Niagara on the Lake. Take a peak at these wonderful pictures, many taken by Andrea of Andrea’s Impressions Photography!

Can’t you just feel it? Oh the sweet love of a flourishing romance and a couple on their wedding day! The glow in the bride’s flushed face & the sparkle of excitement seen in his eyes; radiant as they start their new life together.

Each detail of this fabulous late fall day was taken into such consideration & love; everything coming together to truly capture the look Adriana & her groom Jamie were after- classic elegance with a punch of colour; refined while still being playful. The bride’s mom, Antoinette; lovingly doted on Adriana & with their special attention to detail brought all of little pieces together to make this day out of this world.
When delivering the wedding party flowers early that morning, I was especially excited to see Adriana in her finery…

there was such a scurry of activity when I was whisked right into her parent’s home! Pete from Stec Photo was already capturing the stunning bride!

Her soft exquisite bouquet included ivory spray roses, creamy white cymbidium orchids, cream imported roses, white ranunculus finished with dusty miller & stems completely wrapped with soft satin ribbon.

Surrounding Adriana were all of her closest, fun lovin’ ladies, wearing a wonderful raspberry halter style dress, adding a punch of colour to the elegant day…holding posy style bouquets with raspberry cymbidium orchids, vintage pink imported roses & silvery dusty miller to finished their chic look perfectly.

…just look at how happy she is!!! check out the dusty miller within her bouquet as well, so soft & elegant!

Meeting up with her groom for a warm embrace, they were photographed together in and around the grounds of Niagara’s Fallsview Casino.

After the ceremony & Wedding party pictures, guests arrived at John Michael’s Hall in Thorold to find a room done to perfection by Simply Beautiful Decor.

Choosing pearl pink french pleated satin for the tablecloths & soft, fun ruffled pink chair caps on the silver chiavari chairs; the place was out of this world beautiful & filled with soft ambiance by candlelight.

The centrepieces were created in lovely crystal fluted pieces filled with creamy white hydrangea, raspberry cymbidium orchids, vintage pink & cream shades of imported roses and raspberry hanging amaranthus.

Elegant chandeliers adorned either end of the show-stoping head table to finish the look off!

And the bridal couple enjoyed their guests & danced the night away!

Fleurish flowers are such a fabulous way to add colour to so many different events…Grand Openings are one of them!! We had the special privilege of creating sensation spring arrangements for the grand opening of the Sun Products Group Distribution Centre in Milton. This warehouse has to be the cleanest place you would ever step foot in!! Not only does it have the scents of a new building but it’s full of their signature cleaning products…

…if only I could have bottled up the smell, it was almost intoxicating in a clean way!

Looking at their logo, with it’s bold blue & vibrant yellow colouring - it was easy to find blooms to compliment! Yellow daffodils, blue hyacinths, blue irises finished with a springy selection of greenery welcome all the guests with bright faces on this sunny morning.

The flowers were definitely the finishing touch to this event! Don’t forget to think Fleurish when planning yours!

Especially on a day like today, I look out the window and I see huge snowflakes ahhhh - isn’t it supposed to be spring yet??, I guess I’ll just have to use my imagination!
Just imagine lilac blooms overflowing on bushes lining the road or crocus’ popping their head out of the earth.
Whether using purple as your main colour in your wedding or as little touches here or there…soft shades are the perfect way to add a springy touch.
The first combination includes:
Soft purple roses, purple tulips & freesia, deep purple calla lilies amongst other soft shades, lovely bouquets for a spring wedding!

This next combination includes even softer shades:
Soft purple Lisianthus & ‘Cool Water’ a soft purple rose complimented with white & ivory tones including hydrangea, roses, freesia & anemone; fabulous for a simple, romantic day. The girls wore chocolate brown dresses so the soft shades of purples & whites were a stunning accent and for a touch of interest & uniqueness we added just a hint of deep plum to the bridal bouquet, which set everything off perfectly! …oh the options are endless to make your day as unique as you are!

Having a hard time deciding on the perfect shade for your wedding day? Send me an email, I’d love to help :)

What do you think of when you hear the word ‘Purple’

In the - oh so exciting - world of weddings there are so many different colours to pick from when choosing your colour palette and PURPLE has been a hot one lately! When speaking to a bride about her day & what she was thinking for in terms of flowers: theme and overall look, style…Colour is such a huge part as it really sets the mood for the day.
Using purple within your day?
Here are a few things to consider:
Deep & bright purple shades evoke a sense of riches & lushness. Can’t you just imagine these fabulous shades?
The flowers that come to my mind…think purple lisianthus, the unique blooms of anemone (I have one sitting in a budvase on my kitchen table…such a funky bloom!), the long & lovely delphinium, eggplants, plums and deep plum ranunculus, deep purple calla lilies, oh and how about a lush glass of merlot…Mmm my favourite!

Lighter purple awakens a softer more romantic, delicate, spring chic feel.
Think purple lilac and their wonderful fragrance…there is nothing like a few fresh picked stems in a vintage vase, freesia, garden roses, lavender, soft lavender lisianthus, sweet peas to name a few.

Magenta & pinky shades of purple make me think of fun summery bouquets! These feminine tones work so well with so many different colours, just so bright & energetic.
Think a tropical wedding with funky orchid blooms, purple hydrangea, imported roses, stock blooms and more!!

There are soo many unique & excellent ways to incorporate purple into your wedding day; hopefully this will help to inspire you!
In my next couple of blogs I’ll be focusing on weddings I have done over the last while, each showcasing a fabulous wedding using purple! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts and select the one you love the best ☺
Enjoy!
